Course Structure

The course structure and content is identical to the MBSR in-person-course. There are 8 standardized modules that build on each other. Ideally, each week one module is completed at a time (2-2.5h). The days between the modules are for independent meditation practice.

1. What Is Mindfulness

There is more right with us than wrong. Becoming aware of the autopilot and start living in the present moment.

2. Perception and Creative Responding

How we perceive the world and ourselves affects the amount of stress and suffering we experience.

3. Mindfulness of the Breath and the Body in Movement

There is both pleasure and power in being present. Starting to observe body and mind in movement.

4. Learning About Our Patterns of Stress Reactivity

Wherever you go, there you are. Learn the physiological and psychological basis of the stress reaction. Learn to respond in a healthy way to stressful situations.

5. Working with Stress

Mindful Responding instead of Reacting. The aim is to find a more intelligent way of dealing with situations that we normally avoid, repress or resist. (e.g. destructive thought patterns or emotions).

6. Stressful Communications

Interpersonal Mindfulness. Discover how mindfulness can be supportive in difficult relationships and conversations.

Silent Retreat Day

This 5.5 hour session consists of formal and informal meditations and breaks. The goal is to deepen one's practice and weave mindfulness into everyday life.

7. Lifestyle Choices

How can I best take care of myself? Become aware of your decisions in daily life. Decisions can be helpful and enriching or harmful and distressing.
